Just another Monday afternoon......

Many things have changed since my last blog post.  We had our beautiful baby boy, Rhett James, on April 14, 2016 at 4:33 pm.  He is full of life, loves dancing, and is obsessed with cows, horses, and TRACTORS! He just turned 1 and we are loving life with him.  He keeps us moving and he is ALL BOY! Birthday! First birthday party Since having our Rhett boy, more than a few things have changed in our life.  I made the very difficult decision to stay home with him and no longer "work in town".  It has been challenging, fun, exhausting, and very different for this girl.  I miss my work as a physical therapist but I am so grateful to have this opportunity to stay home with Rhett as he grows and learns.  That being said, today would not have happened for us if I did "work in town" (again, very thankful).  A typical Monday for me includes picking food off of my dog (Rhett likes to "share"), playing with tractors in the floor, and cleaning up a million

What a difference a year makes.......or 2.....

Hi, yes I know I haven't blogged in over a year....we have had quite the year!!!!  It has been a whirlwind that includes many wonderful stories I plan to share with you all, including; digging post holes, working cattle, building our house, pregnancies, engagements, moving permanently to the ranch, wrangling baby bunnies, and so much more.....but today will be a little different. Typically this blog is a silly, light-hearted story of a girl who is learning and loving the transition to moving to Priddy Ranch off some highway in Texas but today I wanted to share what this last year has brought to my family, my life, my story.  I debated on writing this post but after many prayers (and reluctance of stepping out of my comfort zone)  ...here it is.  The way I see it if this helps just one family, just one woman, just one man....it did it's purpose! {Confession: I started this post at least 9 months ago & I am just now finishing it - see I told you it has been hard to write

Inconsistent Blogger

I was informed this week that I have not updated my blog in quite sometime, my work family is upset....maybe it was the Holidays, maybe it was starting the Barn, maybe it was work....but mostly I have been busy and this took a back seat to LIFE! So my last update was in November.....hmm since then.  We made a flying trip to Vegas for the NFR, celebrated Christmas with my amazing family, and started construction on our Barn home! NFR - Vegas, always fun.....we were upgraded to a 1700 square foot suite on a private floor because we are from Texas (most likely because my husband was in his black hat and a t-shirt.....what a cutie, but she said "I like Texans, you will love this suite".  Well, ya, we love Texans too.....WE ARE AWESOME!!!).  It was a great time as always and we met up with my cousin and his wife for his 40th birthday, which made it even more fun, even though we didn't have a rocking "Rock of Ages" concert for ourselves....still fun. Christmas..

Moving Weekend Part 2 & "closing day"...posted months later....

Well friends....it was a bittersweet weekend at Priddy Ranch and Priddy Ranch 2 -this is what I call the Sallee home - I have to name them, because I kind of have 2 homes currently.  You see, we were supposed to close on the Sallee House today.  On one hand I am so thankful we get to spend another Christmas in our first home....on the other, we are spending another month in our home.....listing again, painting, updating, and ready for showing EVERYDAY.  There could be worse things, I could be sick, I could be homeless, I could be hungry, things could be all together worse but they aren't.  I am blessed with a roof over my head, a warm bed, we get to spend our 6th Christmas together in our first home, and it's 6:40 PM on a Monday night and I have my feet up blogging.  I should be packing, cleaning, decorating, or even doing push ups, but instead I am enjoying every minute of the life God has blessed me with and sharing my story with all of you! Since my last post, we have been

The Red Couch....

Moving became real this weekend, not when all my boxes were loaded on the truck, not when my house was covered in tape and dust, and the shop was a mess....nope, it was real when we moved out the "red couch".    You see, the "red couch"....it has been with me everywhere since I moved out of my childhood home in April of 2005.  That couch moved into my first apartment with my two best girlfriends, Shauna and Brooke, who both have the most beautiful 1 year olds now...how did that happen?  Opps, I digress.  So back to the couch, it was my first official "big girl" purchase and it has moved from Bentwood to Lubbock to Mertzon, and now to a sea container in Talpa, Texas!        I thought I was the only one so attached to my red couch, until this weekend.  Duke has been very confused during this packing and moving process but quietly sat back and let it happen until the RED COUCH was moved outside to the trailer!  He LOST HIS MIND!  He knew that if th

The Great Move Part 1

As you all know, I am moving...well it all started this weekend with a 4:45 AM wake up call on Saturday morning.  No, we usually don't get up at that hour on a Saturday but this weekend called for weaning calves and packing boxes....clearly our lives will always and forever more be dictated by the needs of bovines!  Who doesn't want to "mooooo" right now, just me?         Ok, well, our day started with Matt heading to Talpa to "play" with calves and angry Momma's and my day was all about wrapping, packing, and labeling.  You see, that girl that used to pout when having to go work cows with the family is now the girl that is downright upset when she doesn't get to go to the ranch.  A good visit with my Mother-in-law and watching my husband and Father-in-law do what most men dream of doing is the best way to spend a weekend, in my opinion.  As if moving isn't bad enough, I had to miss an always enjoyable time at the ranch.  Lucky for me,

A blog, well why not?!?!

While driving to town last weekend, my husband mentioned, "you need to start a blog.".  First of all, how does he know what a blog is???  This man who didn't even know what a smart phone was until we rekindled our love in 2009 (a story to come later).....how does HE know what a blog is?????  Either way, he may be right....don't ever let him know I admitted that!  So what better time than now to start a blog....I only work full time, take care of 3 cats and our beloved dog, Duke, we are moving in with my parents in less than 3 weeks, building a home on Priddy Ranch, my cousin Lucas is getting married in 3 weeks, and my best friend and seester is getting married in 5 months..sure, I have time for this!          I think in an initial blog post I am supposed to introduce myself.....I am first and foremost a Christian and complete lover of Jesus Christ, I am 29, a physical therapist, a dog-mom, an accidental cat-mom, an OCD dishes lover, my Momma's shopping
