A blog, well why not?!?!

While driving to town last weekend, my husband mentioned, "you need to start a blog.".  First of all, how does he know what a blog is???  This man who didn't even know what a smart phone was until we rekindled our love in 2009 (a story to come later).....how does HE know what a blog is?????  Either way, he may be right....don't ever let him know I admitted that!  So what better time than now to start a blog....I only work full time, take care of 3 cats and our beloved dog, Duke, we are moving in with my parents in less than 3 weeks, building a home on Priddy Ranch, my cousin Lucas is getting married in 3 weeks, and my best friend and seester is getting married in 5 months..sure, I have time for this!

I think in an initial blog post I am supposed to introduce myself.....I am first and foremost a Christian and complete lover of Jesus Christ, I am 29, a physical therapist, a dog-mom, an accidental cat-mom, an OCD dishes lover, my Momma's shopping buddy, a Daddy's girl, a Red Raider, and a  transitional rancher's wife of my own Prince Charming.  Apparently, my husband thinks I am dramatic and that my stories should be published in some form or fashion....I, clearly, have NO CLUE what he is referring to.....

So here we go... a first time blogger,  who is packing up her life in San Angelo, Texas to move to Talpa, Texas.... a girl that grew up only 20 miles from Target and wanted to live in Fort Worth, Texas on 7th in the middle of EVERYTHING to Talpa, Tx   Talpa.....where my Prince grew up, my new happy place, my new escape, my sweet Dukers favorite place on Earth, my soon to be home...Talpa, can life get any better?

I was once a girl that pouted atop a fence post while my family worked cattle and loved every minute of raising longhorns, as a hobby.  You see, my Daddy is the Great American Dream, he worked his way up from an HVAC technician to owning his own very successful business and my Momma, well, she was the first in her family to graduate from college (Go Rams!).....with a baby (ya
, it was me) and was a very successful Trust Officer until her life really began with retirement in 2011.  Oh wait, back to the pouting teenager, the one who's Momma said, "Someday you will be glad you learned something about cattle, you may need to know about it someday"....so everyone loved the whole cattle raising,  ranching, spending weekends at Maverick, outdoor thing, everyone but me!  So when I met this handsome, funny, Jesus loving man named Matt Priddy, my dreams, my life, well everything changed......

What a difference a year makes.......or 2.....

Hi, yes I know I haven't blogged in over a year....we have had quite the year!!!!  It has been a whirlwind that includes many wonderful stories I plan to share with you all, including; digging post holes, working cattle, building our house, pregnancies, engagements, moving permanently to the ranch, wrangling baby bunnies, and so much more.....but today will be a little different. Typically this blog is a silly, light-hearted story of a girl who is learning and loving the transition to moving to Priddy Ranch off some highway in Texas but today I wanted to share what this last year has brought to my family, my life, my story.  I debated on writing this post but after many prayers (and reluctance of stepping out of my comfort zone)  ...here it is.  The way I see it if this helps just one family, just one woman, just one man....it did it's purpose! {Confession: I started this post at least 9 months ago & I am just now finishing it - see I told you it has been har...

Just another Monday afternoon......

Many things have changed since my last blog post.  We had our beautiful baby boy, Rhett James, on April 14, 2016 at 4:33 pm.  He is full of life, loves dancing, and is obsessed with cows, horses, and TRACTORS! He just turned 1 and we are loving life with him.  He keeps us moving and he is ALL BOY! Birthday! First birthday party Since having our Rhett boy, more than a few things have changed in our life.  I made the very difficult decision to stay home with him and no longer "work in town".  It has been challenging, fun, exhausting, and very different for this girl.  I miss my work as a physical therapist but I am so grateful to have this opportunity to stay home with Rhett as he grows and learns.  That being said, today would not have happened for us if I did "work in town" (again, very thankful).  A typical Monday for me includes picking food off of my dog (Rhett likes to "share"), playing with tractors in the floor, and cleaning up a...

The Red Couch....

Moving became real this weekend, not when all my boxes were loaded on the truck, not when my house was covered in tape and dust, and the shop was a mess....nope, it was real when we moved out the "red couch".    You see, the "red couch"....it has been with me everywhere since I moved out of my childhood home in April of 2005.  That couch moved into my first apartment with my two best girlfriends, Shauna and Brooke, who both have the most beautiful 1 year olds now...how did that happen?  Opps, I digress.  So back to the couch, it was my first official "big girl" purchase and it has moved from Bentwood to Lubbock to Mertzon, and now to a sea container in Talpa, Texas!        I thought I was the only one so attached to my red couch, until this weekend.  Duke has been very confused during this packing and moving process but quietly sat back and let it happen until the RED COUCH was moved outside to the trailer! ...
